Network Fault Correlation

NervceCenter, OpenService's network fault correlation and event management product, enables enterprise network managers to rapidly correlate events together to diagnose the true root cause of any event or series of events. Better yet, thanks to the powerful finite state machine correlation metaphor and PERL extensibility, NerveCenter enables network fault correlation algorithms to enrich the data sent to your operations console.

What this means in practice is that instead of seeing a flood of possibly related events, an operator sees a single alarm, enriched and isolated by NerveCenter's network fault correlation routines. The operator becomes more productive, gains insight into the discovered cause of the fault, and can address it significantly faster than if faced with a screenful of redundant or confusing alarms. NerveCenter's network fault correlation capabilities include the ability to programmatically query or store data in industry-standard databases, dynamically query the same or related hosts for correlation information based on fault data, and change how nodes are managed based on the results of live network fault correlation routines. NerveCenter also imports topology information from HP NNM—and any other system provided a basic text file format is followed—automating topology based alarm suppression.
