"Log management" doesn't begin to encompass the compliance, security, and operations value of OpenService LogCenter
Any log management system will capture and archive events. Most can convert popular proprietary log files into a searchable format and generate periodic reports. LogCenter from OpenService goes on to deliver the log functionality that IT managers really need: Conversion from any device, system, application, or security console - coupled with the ability to search and run reports in real-time.

There is no need to worry about audits when your compliance regimen is grounded on LogCenter. You get compliance reports on demand, directly as the data is collected. Finally it is now possible for CSOs, compliance officers, auditors, and forensic analysts to examine and manage security compliance issues immediately, without waiting for the end of a reporting period.
Pull data from even stubborn sources
Most log management systems passively receive information forwarded to them. LogCenter collectors actively pull data from uncommunicative network elements such as Windows servers using .Net/WMI calls and SQL queries. Collectors also proactively gather and filter information from RDEP, SDEE, OPSEC, and files using many other protocols to capture and consolidate security data.
LogCenter also handles "chatty" devices that generate events with every hiccup by filtering them through a built-in regular expression editor. Using out-of-the-box rules plus your own, LogCenter escalates events of interest while compressing and archiving the rest. LogCenter then goes further by enriching the data, cross-referencing events against a metabase using CVE and Bugtrak IDs. Regardless of how vendors describe attacks, you will see what they are in plain language.
"Think of everything you'd hope to do with real-time log data. Chances are, LogCenter does that and more. As engineers with long
experience in IT management, we channeled our impatience with other vendors' systems into creating a really useful log management product."

Integrate with other InfoCenter modules for comprehensive EEM
LogCenter real-time data from all your devices and systems plus core applications and databases are the foundation for best-practice security and network management. Two other modules of OpenService InfoCenter correlate and act on items of interest gathered by the collectors: ThreatCenter continuously sifts incoming data looking for matches to its pre-defined risk models. NerveCenter provides a framework to customize its functionality to match the way your services are delivered to achieve true service-aware network management.
