SALES EXECUTIVE - Boston, MA


You will serve as the lead technical resource supporting the OpenService Regional Sales Team and partners for both Security Management Center (SMC) and NerveCenter. Key responsibilities include product demonstrations to prospects and customers, both in person and on the web, installation, and configuration of evaluation systems for customer prospects which demonstrate the capabilities of SMC and NerveCenter in the customer's environment. Demonstrate to, and train prospects and customers in tuning, navigating and interpreting data from the installed OpenService solution. Set and manage customer expectations throughout the entire evaluation process and identify specific customer requirements, then interface with the customer, sales, engineering and product management teams to scope and design a production network security and monitoring solution that meets stated requirements. Work with the Customer Support and Professional Services organizations to ensure a smooth transition from evaluation to production. Work with the regional sales team to maintain a positive customer relationship.

Minimum Skills and Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of network and security infrastructure, including hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with standard and best practices for enterprise IT operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Unix, Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in delivering technical presentations.
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with security products and protocols.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage workload to meet specific deadlines.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP including routed and routing protocols.
  • Strong customer service orientation and attitude.
  • Must work effectively as part of a team and be able to exercise independent judgment within defined guidelines and procedures.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage priorities and adapt to changing work load requirements.
  • Must be able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends in related technology.
  • Must be willing and able to travel, approximately 50-60% travel.
  • Previous NerveCenter experience and familiarity with Perl is a plus.
  • Security (CISSP, GIAC) and Networking certifications (CCIE) also highly desired.
  • Spanish speaking skills a plus.
  • Strong English-language communication skills.
  • Must either possess or apply for a valid U.S. Passport.
